What was the reason to start Camp Burnout?
Camp Burnout was founded because there’s simply not enough good care for people with burnout or chronic-stress. When you fall out of the window and break your leg, someone calls the emergency number and an ambulance comes. They take you to the hospital where doctors are ready to do those things that ensure that your leg recovers in the shortest possible time. But strangely enough, that works completely differently with burnout/chronic-stress.
Yes? How?
If you become stressed or have a burnout, it still comes down to people far too often having to look for answers themselves and find their own way out of burnout/stress. And that while millions of people have to go through the same thing every year.
We wondered: if so many people become stressed or have a burnout – why is there no established treatment plan? Why is there nothing that can take the patient by the hand, show them the way to recovery and support them every day in the process? This was the beginning of Camp Burnout.
Wait a minute, aren’t there psychologists who can help you?
Sure, and we definitely recommend that you start therapy. But therapists also work without a fixed treatment plan, which means that the quality of care can vary considerably. In addition, they are busy. It can happen that you have to wait several weeks or even months before you can start your trajectory. Moreover: you see a psychologist once a week, for about 60 minutes. But if you have burnout or chronic-stress, your life is so turned upside down that you have questions every day, need constant guidance or would like a reassuring hand on your shoulder. Camp Burnout is built exactly for that. To be a guide that you can consult every day and who can answer almost all your questions, even if you can’t see a psychologist for a while.
How is Camp Burnout different from a program with a psychologist?
Camp Burnout is an online recovery program for people who are suffering from burnout or chronic-stress. The program is step-by-step. In other words, you start at the top and work your way down. In this way, you go through five important ‘steps’ that are necessary to unlock your recovery and shorten your recovery time. You will receive a lesson each time and then a simple exercise to implement that lesson in your life. What we have also done is make the program simple and fun. All lessons are audio or video. If a topic is complicated, we explain it using animations and the exercises are super simple to perform. In short, it is a super accessible program that is nice and fun to go through, so no dry stuff.
Can’t I just recover myself?
Recovering from burnout or chronic-stress yourself is possible, but it leads to a process of mainly trial and error and constantly finding solutions that you were actually already looking for a month ago. This makes it a search, instead of a step-by-step plan, and makes the recovery process unnecessarily long and frustrating. Camp Burnout exists to prevent that. To give people a plan and ensure that they take the steps that lead to recovery.
